The banknote with a denomination of 50 rubli Latvia 1992 (Pick P‑40) was part of the transitional currency issued shortly after the country regained independence. Printed on paper without complex security features, it bears the signature of Einars Repše, the then head of the Bank of Latvia.
The design is minimalist, featuring the denomination and inscriptions, including “Latvijas Bankas pagaidu naudas zīme 1992” and Repše's signature. These banknotes were popularly called “repšiki” by locals.
The reverse side displays stylized decorative elements and motifs symbolizing Latvia's heritage. The banknote was in circulation briefly from 1992 to 1993 before being replaced by the lat currency.
A valuable specimen for collectors interested in Latvia’s early post-Soviet currency period.
