Belgium’s 2025 commemorative 2 euro coin celebrates the 100th Anniversary of the National Lottery. Packaged in the official FR Coincard (French-language version), this BU quality coin has a total mintage of 75,000 pieces.
The obverse features a stylized female figure — the “Goddess of Fortune” — holding a horn of plenty, symbolizing prosperity and the lottery’s support for societal initiatives. Surrounding her are four four‑leaf clovers — traditional lucky symbols tied to the National Lottery’s mission.
To the left, the bilingual inscription “LOTERIE NATIONALE – LOTERIJ” reflects Belgium’s French‑Dutch linguistic diversity. Below, the laser‑engraved country code “BE” and the year “2025” are flanked by the Royal Dutch Mint’s logo and the privy mark of coin commissioner Giovanni Van de Velde. The designer’s initials, Iris Bruijns, are engraved at the bottom.
The background motif of interconnected lines and circles evokes community, connection and solidarity — key values supported by the National Lottery. The edge is adorned with the official 12 EU stars, as required for euro coins.
The reverse presents the standard map of Europe and denomination “2 EURO”.
