USA 1 Dollar 2026 – Oneida (UNC)

The 2026 Native American $1 coin honors the Oneida people and their important contribution to American independence during the Revolutionary War. It belongs to the United States Mint's Native American $1 Coin Program, which recognizes Native American individuals and tribal nations that have helped shape the history of the United States.

This coin is offered in UNC (Uncirculated) condition. Although produced with a circulating finish, modern Native American dollars have primarily been issued for collectors rather than everyday circulation.

Obverse: Features the familiar portrait of Sacagawea carrying her infant son, Jean-Baptiste. The inscriptions include LIBERTY and IN GOD WE TRUST. The year, mint mark and E PLURIBUS UNUM appear on the coin's lettered edge.

Reverse: Depicts Polly Cooper, an Oneida woman, presenting a basket of corn to General George Washington. The design commemorates the Oneida people's assistance to the Continental Army at Valley Forge during the harsh winter of 1777–1778. The inscriptions include POLLY COOPER, ONEIDA ALLIES AT VALLEY FORGE, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and $1.

The Oneida people provided food and support to American troops during a critical period of the Revolutionary War. Polly Cooper is remembered in Oneida tradition for helping the soldiers prepare corn so it could be eaten. The coin recognizes generosity, courage and the historic alliance between the Oneida and the American revolutionary forces.
