This silver Proof coin commemorates the 230th anniversary of the Constitution of 3 May 1791, one of Europe's first modern constitutions. Issued by Lithuania in 2021, it celebrates the historical act of unity between Lithuania and Poland — the Commonwealth of the Two Nations.
The obverse features a symbolic composition: an open hand holding the Constitution, representing civic responsibility and democratic ideals. A coat of arms divided into four parts represents the unity of the nations. The inscription in Lithuanian, “Abiejų Tautų Respublikos Gegužės 3-iosios Konstitucija ir Tarpusavio Įžado Aktas” (“The Constitution of 3 May and the Mutual Pledge of the Commonwealth of the Two Nations”), encircles the image along with the number “230”.
