The 20 Latu 2009 banknote from Latvia (Pick P-55b), offered here in VF (Very Fine) grade, represents one of the later emission series before Latvia transitioned to the euro.
Obverse: features a stylized Latvian rural homestead with a vertical stripe incorporating the traditional Lielvārde belt pattern. Original inscriptions include: «Latvijas Bankas naudas zīme» (Denomination sign of the Bank of Latvia), «Divdesmit Latu» (Twenty Latu) and «Latvijas Banka».
Reverse: decorated with a woven textile-style ornament. At the lower right is the year 2009; above it — the Coat of Arms of Latvia, and higher still — the Milda watermark. Includes a windowed security thread marked with the denomination.
