The collectible 100 Latu 2007 banknote from Latvia (catalog Pick P-57a), offered in VF (Very Fine) condition, represents one of the final high-value Lats issues before Latvia adopted the euro.

Obverse: displays the prominent portrait of Krišjānis Barons, known as the “Father of the Dainas”. The background incorporates fine traditional Latvian ornamentation. To the left is a transparent security stripe containing microtext and sun-symbol elements. Original inscriptions include: «Latvijas Bankas naudas zīme» (Money note of the Bank of Latvia), «Simt Latu» (One Hundred Lats), and «Latvijas Banka».

Reverse: dominated by an intricate pattern inspired by the Lielvārde belt, one of Latvia’s most iconic ethnographic textile motifs. Additional design features include the vertical security thread with “Ls 100”, shaded ornaments, and modern anti-counterfeiting elements harmoniously integrated into the layout.

Print run: 5,000,000 banknotes. Source: Latvijas Banka PDF
