Obverse: in the center, a globe surrounded by a branch with 17 leaves, symbolizing the 17 UN goals. The design also features the Portuguese coat of arms, the inscriptions “Portugal” and “2025,” the name of the designer Carolina Ladeira, and the mintmark of “Casa da Moeda.”
Reverse: the standard 2 Euro design with the map of Europe and 12 stars of the European Union.
The coin is struck in bi-metallic composition (nickel-brass and copper-nickel), with a diameter of 25.75 mm and a weight of 8.5 g. The UNC version has a limited mintage of 500,000 pieces.
