The obverse bears the portrait of Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, and the reverse depicts the Kaaba in Mecca, Saudi Arabia — a sacred symbol in Islam. The signatures of Governor Mahmud Bahmani and Minister Seyed Shamseddin Hosseini are present.

Issued between 2005 and 2013, this note substitutes earlier versions with alternate signatures and continues standard circulation of 2,000 Rials denomination. It includes a watermark of Khomeini and visible security thread.
