The collectible 2 Euro Lithuania 2025 – Mažajai Lietuvai coin in UNC (uncirculated) quality is issued as part of the series dedicated to Lithuania's ethnographic regions, symbolizing the rich cultural and historical heritage of the Mažoji Lietuva region.
Mažoji Lietuva is a historical region in western Lithuania, where various cultural influences, traditions, and languages intersect. It is significant for Lithuanian identity, as unique ethnographic customs, folklore, literary tradition, and enduring cultural traits developed here and survived for centuries.
Obverse: Features the coat of arms of Mažoji Lietuva with a noble deer shield, above which a lighthouse shines, symbolizing light, hope, and guidance. Stylized representations of traditional Baltic boats flank the shield, reflecting the region's connection to the Baltic Sea. Below the coat of arms is the quote by philosopher Vidunas: «Spindulys esmi begalinės šviesos» ("Ray — the essence of infinite light"), metaphorically emphasizing the pursuit of light, knowledge, and hope.
Reverse: Standard common side of the euro with a map of Europe and denomination "2 €". Minted at the Lithuanian Mint (Lietuvos monetų kalykla).
This coin concludes the Lithuanian 2 euro series dedicated to ethnographic regions (previous issues were dedicated to Žemaitija, Aukštaitija, Dzūkija, and Suvalkija).
The roll contains 25 coins in UNC quality, making it an excellent collectible for numismatics enthusiasts.
Mintage: 500,000 coins (approximately 495,000 UNC in rolls and 5,000 BU in coincards).
An exquisite and deeply symbolic release reflecting the history, culture, and identity of Mažoji Lietuva — a valuable addition to modern euro coin collections.
