2 Euro Andorra 2017 – 100 Years of the Anthem of Andorra commemorates the centenary of the adoption of Andorra’s national anthem. The anthem was officially adopted by the General Council of Andorra (Consell General) on 2 April 1917.
The national side features a partial reproduction of the Andorran anthem published in 1914. The central design shows the first musical notes, surrounded by floral ornamentation and the inscription “Himne Andorrà”. Above the composition are the year 2017 and the Catalan inscription “100 anys de l’himne d’Andorra”. The outer ring is decorated with the 12 stars of the European Union.
Presented in an original Coincard in BU (Brilliant Uncirculated) quality, this commemorative 2 Euro coin is an attractive choice for collectors interested in Andorra, European commemorative coins and issues dedicated to national cultural heritage. The official mintage was limited to 85,000 coins.
