Cuba 3 Pesos 2004 (Pick P127a) banknote is part of the Cuban convertible peso series issued in the early 2000s. It is dedicated to the revolutionary icon and Cuban national hero — Che Guevara.
Obverse: Features a portrait of Ernesto "Che" Guevara — the legendary Argentine-born revolutionary who played a key role in the 1959 Cuban Revolution. Following the overthrow of Batista’s regime, Che held important government positions, including President of the National Bank and Minister of Industry. He is globally recognized as a symbol of social justice, sacrifice, and anti-imperialism. The note also shows the issuing bank “Banco Central de Cuba” and the denomination.
Reverse: Depicts Che Guevara harvesting sugarcane — a scene of voluntary labor (“Che - precursor del trabajo voluntario”). It reflects his personal commitment to labor and his call for the Cuban people to contribute actively to the country’s development.
The note is printed on security paper measuring approximately 150 × 70 mm, and includes a watermark with Celia Sánchez — a close ally of Fidel Castro — and a security thread with the inscription “PATRIA O MUERTE” (“Homeland or death”).
Note: This banknote stands out for its strong ideological and historical value and remains highly collectible among world currency enthusiasts.
