2 Euro Roll Lithuania 2026 - Kaunas (25 Coins) is the official roll presentation of the Lithuanian 2 Euro commemorative coin dedicated to Kaunas. This collector-oriented roll contains 25 UNC coins, representing a total face value of 50 Euro. The issue was released on 1 October 2026 and was minted at the Lithuanian Mint. The UNC circulation issue has a mintage of 495,000 coins, while a separate 5,000-piece BU issue was released in numismatic packaging.
Kaunas stands at the confluence of the Nemunas and Neris rivers and has played an important role in the historical development of Lithuania. From 1919 to 1939, the city served as the temporary capital of Lithuania and became the centre of the country's political, economic and cultural life. The city's interwar modernist architecture received international recognition when the Modernist Kaunas architectural heritage was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2023.
Obverse: The national side presents a panoramic composition of Kaunas. The foreground shows the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, also known as Vytautas the Great Church. Behind it are the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul and the House of Perkūnas, while Kaunas Town Hall forms the central architectural element. The towers of St. Francis Xavier Church and Kaunas Castle are also visible. On the right are two important symbols of the city's interwar modernism: the Kaunas Central Post Office and the Basilica of the Resurrection of Christ. The inscriptions KAUNAS and LIETUVA, the Lithuanian Mint mark, the year 2026 and the artist's initials are incorporated into the design. The outer ring carries the 12 stars of the European Union.
Reverse: The common European side follows the standard 2 Euro design by Luc Luycx and features a geographical representation of Europe with the denomination 2 EURO. The edge inscription reads "LAISVĖ * VIENYBĖ * GEROVĖ *", meaning "Freedom * Unity * Well-being *".
Complectation: One original roll of 25 Lithuania 2 Euro 2026 Kaunas commemorative UNC coins, with a combined face value of 50 Euro. The roll presentation is intended for collectors who want the official multi-coin format of the UNC issue.
