2 Euro Lithuania 2026 - Kaunas (UNC) is a commemorative circulation coin dedicated to Kaunas, one of Lithuania's most historically and culturally significant cities. The issue was released on 1 October 2026 and was minted at the Lithuanian Mint. The UNC version belongs to the standard uncirculated-quality issue supplied in rolls.

Kaunas developed at the confluence of the Nemunas and Neris rivers and has played an important role in Lithuania's political, economic and cultural history. Between 1919 and 1939, Kaunas served as the temporary capital of Lithuania, a period that strongly shaped the city's distinctive modernist architectural character. The modernist architecture of Kaunas was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2023.

Obverse: The national side presents a detailed panorama of Kaunas. The foreground includes the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, also known as Vytautas the Great Church. Behind it are the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul and the House of Perkūnas, while Kaunas Town Hall rises in the centre of the composition. The towers of St. Francis Xavier Church and Kaunas Castle appear further in the panorama. On the right are two important symbols of interwar modernist Kaunas: the Kaunas Central Post Office and the Basilica of the Resurrection of Christ. The composition also includes the inscriptions KAUNAS and LIETUVA, the Lithuanian Mint mark, the year 2026 and the artist's initials. The outer ring carries the 12 stars of the European Union.

Reverse: The common European side follows the standard €2 design created by Luc Luycx and features a geographical representation of Europe together with the denomination. The coin edge bears the Lithuanian inscription "LAISVĖ * VIENYBĖ * GEROVĖ *", meaning "Freedom * Unity * Well-being *".
