Greece 2 Euro Roll 2026 - Exodus of Messolonghi (25 Coins UNC) contains 25 uncirculated commemorative €2 coins dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the Exodus of Messolonghi. This is the official circulation-quality version supplied in an original roll, making it particularly suitable for collectors who want to preserve a full roll of the Greek 2026 commemorative issue.
The Exodus of Messolonghi in April 1826 became one of the defining episodes of the Greek War of Independence. After a prolonged siege, the defenders attempted a desperate breakout. The fall of Messolonghi shocked European public opinion and gave fresh impetus to the philhellenic movement. The city was subsequently declared a Sacred City and remains an enduring symbol of heroism and self-sacrifice. The commemorative coin was designed by Greek artist G. Stamatopoulos.
Obverse: The national commemorative side carries the Greek inscription "200 ΧΡΟΝΙΑ ΑΠΟ ΤΗΝ ΕΞΟΔΟ ΤΟΥ ΜΕΣΟΛΟΓΓΙΟΥ", referring to 200 years since the Exodus of Messolonghi. The design also includes the year 2026, the inscription "ΕΛΛΗΝΙΚΗ ΔΗΜΟΚΡΑΤΙΑ" and the surrounding European stars.
Reverse: The common European side follows the standard €2 design, showing the denomination "2 EURO" together with the map of Europe and the twelve European stars. The edge has fine milling with edge lettering, as specified for the Greek €2 circulation issue.
Complectation: 1 original roll containing 25 Greece 2 Euro 2026 commemorative coins in UNC quality. The roll has a total face value of €50 and preserves the coins together in their original roll format.
